Gold Coast has no shortage of entertainment and experiences catering to visitors and locals alike

On a given weekend, there are many events on offer - like Gold Coast Show Day at Parklands this Friday, a work holiday in Queensland, to the City Cup Race Day on Saturday at the Turf Club.  Both events strongly encouragement "family trips," so if you happen to be looking for things to do with your kids this weekend, you're in luck....kids events to live racing for the big kids.  Put a gold star on these two!
Also this weekend but continuing through 5 September, is Tastes of Gold Coast.  Participating restaurants line the Glitter Strip and beyond.  Each district has it's own theme, from Eurofest in Surfers to the best fish and chips on the beach at Coolongatta.

Something novel is The Cocktail Trail at participating hotels throughout the region.
Tamborine Mountain Distillery has joined forces with some of the Gold Coast’s best mixologists to create stunning cocktails especially for the festival. Follow the trail and discover these liquid gold treats!

The gay travel guide includes a link to Rainbow Alliance Gold Coast, a social group that welcomes locals as well as visitors on its outings. Today, it was Prejudice & Pride exhibit at Museum of Brisbane.
If there are other groups out there - Rainbow Runners, Gay Surfers, Lesbian Golfers, please let us know if you want to be included in the directory.
