Gold Coast A Gay Winter Escape for Cruisin

Off with the woolly socks and on with joggers, flip-flops or just go barefoot with the sand between your
toes! It well and truly feels like winter has set in but there's plenty of opportunities to warm yourself up in
balmy Queensland over the next few weeks.
Wintersun 2010 starts on Friday 4th June and ends with the huge Best of Wintersun Concert on Monday 14th June. Wintersun is Australia's leading annual Retro Nostalgia Festival. Featuring almost 1500 Hot Rods, Custom and Classic Cars ((all pre-1974 models), more than 100 bands and performers, dancing, movies, and competitions.

After the show and concert, you may want to unwind at your Gay Gold Coast accommodation, unwind in a spa or on the beach, before checking out the After Dark scene at gay clubs.  For information on other things to see and do, check out Rainbow Tourism's Gold Coast pages.

Lamington National Park: Gold Coast Must Do

Gay Gold Coast features inspiring things to see and do in Australia's dream destination...where vibrant lesbian and gay travel experiences are paramount!  This week we look at a national park...

Sure our city sits on a 70 kilometre stretch of fine sandy gold beaches washed by the South Pacific Ocean. But what about the subtropical rainforest, unique-to-Australia wildlife, mountain climbs, tree-top walks, and all the adventure activities you can cram into such a naturally spectacular place?

There are several suggestions on the Gold Coast Tourism website, and some fun clips on the 3 episodes of Follow The Adventure - including the tree top walk on Mount Tamborine inside O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat.

Now that's one adventure I'm planning on next visit.  I imagine it will take several getaways to see all of Lamington National Park - and there are 3 other NPs just inside the Gold Coast Region!

Got the Gay Gold Coast travel bug yet?

There’s a bonanza of festivals this season and a vast array of shopping options.  With some of Australia’s largest retail centres and most stylish fashion precincts, even grocery shopping on the Gold Coast is an amazing prospect.

Hmmm.  Maybe its time to buy some new clothes and organic snacks to attend the events on offer around the region.

Broadbeach is at the forefront of Gold Coast style and has developed as one of the city’s most cosmopolitan districts. This freshness is reflected in the vibrant shopping and dining precinct that continues to grow amid some of the Gold Coast’s most impressive accommodation.

This month is the annual Blues on Broadbeach Festival, which you can follow with dinner at Room 81 at Sofitel Broadbeach and late night drinks at Lauxes Champagne Bar.
