Sure our city sits on a 70 kilometre stretch of fine sandy gold beaches washed by the South Pacific Ocean. But what about the subtropical rainforest, unique-to-Australia wildlife, mountain climbs, tree-top walks, and all the adventure activities you can cram into such a naturally spectacular place?
There are several suggestions on the Gold Coast Tourism website, and some fun clips on the 3 episodes of Follow The Adventure - including the tree top walk on Mount Tamborine inside O'Reillys Rainforest Retreat.
Now that's one adventure I'm planning on next visit. I imagine it will take several getaways to see all of Lamington National Park - and there are 3 other NPs just inside the Gold Coast Region!

Just to clarify as a local, the Treetop walk (free) is on Lamington Plateau/Green Mountains/O'Reilly's, there is the new Skywalk (paid attraction) on the Northern end of Tamborine Mountain.
Try Wallaby Ridge Retreat for a great opportunity to experience all the various National Parks, without being locked into one mountain top!
Thanks for clarifying. Visitors can also enjoy a long leisurely lunch at Songbirds Rainforest Restaurant when in the north end of Tamborine.
